"I'm a widow." Or, "I'm a widower." Something you never in your worst nightmares thought would happen to you. But now here you are. What now? What becomes of the remainder of your life?

Two people. A man and a woman. They don’t know each other. They’ve never met. But they have something in common. Each had suffered the loss of the one who had meant the most to them. The one they had chosen to be their life partner. Both were lonely. The busy affairs of life, and the attempts to do the things to keep busy in their attempts to keep the memories at bay, and the heartbreak from returning anew, never seemed to cover the emptiness each felt.

Would that emptiness be their lot for the remainder of their days? Or would, someday, somehow, and from somewhere, new love come their way? Did they even have the right to wish for new love to come along? Did they deserve to find love again, or was that just selfish dreaming on their part?

It’s a Christian Steampunk love story. A story about facing the grief of the loss of a spouse and learning that it is okay to find new love again after loss. A story about second chances. A story of reliance on faith, returning to faith, and trusting in divine Providence. A story of chance meetings, which are not really by chance, but are answers to prayer. A story of hope renewed and second chances. The story was inspired by real events in the lives of two people. The author and his now wife, proving that love after loss is not only possible, it is often sweeter than anything known before.
